Metadata Navigation is not supported - Deactivate Metadata Navigation

Hi All,

I just build Publishing Site with Meta Data navigation enabled. The site should be SEO friendly. But when I tried to created Publishing Path I got the error on Content Deployment Source Status Page "Metadata Navigation is not supported - Deactivate Metadata Navigation". My staging farm is separate form production farm. I did not find any references that Metadata Navigation is not compatible with Publishing Sites. Moreover SEO URLs optimization make sense only for anonymous internet sites. So, how to publish site from Staging web farm to Production Web Farm and keep Metadata Navigation enabled? Will be SharePoint requirements different if I will use cross-sites publishing instead farm to farm publishing?

Hi Oleg_Petrychenko,

It is by designer that Content Deployment does not support the Managed Navigation's replicate from one site to another. So then the error code is expected when user did the steps.

The resolution:

Disable/Deactivate the Managed Navigation on the site.

Go to Site Actions, Site Settings and Look and Feel. Change the Global Navigation and Current Navigation from Managed Navigation to Structural Navigation.

For general content deployment:

please follow the steps on this article: http://blogs.technet.com/b/tothesharepoint/archive/2013/07/17/changes-to-content-deployment-in-sharepoint-server-2013.aspx, on how to Using content deployment with cross-site publishing.

Best Regards,

Lis
