Memory problems when exporting data to the FIM portal
I'm observing some strange behaviour when exporting data to the FIM portal. Although I'm able to export data to the portal, I'm experiencing severe problems when the amount of data is more than a few objects. I wrote about this in another thread and were advised to apply the latest hotfix (4.0.3576.2) which I did, but unfortunately it didn't solve my problems. My setup looks like this: - HyperV image with FIM 2010 and SQL Server – everything runs on this image - Image has 8GB memory and 2 processors – there is plenty of free disk space (both on the image and on the host). - SQL DB with sample data containing approx. 70.000 objects (org units, employees, groups etc) – these are imported to the MV using the SQL MA. - I’m attempting to run an export on the FIM MA (CS contains 70000 objects) and this is where the problems begin. I’ve attempted to run the export several times (both before and after applying the hotfix) and every time it fails. It varies a bit when it happens but it is approximately after having exported 1-3000 objects - sometimes a lot less. Before the hotfix the sync service reported out-of-memory (which was odd as only half of the available memory was consumed.) After the hotfix I get new error messages such as: - The remote procedure call failed. - Error HRESULT E_FAILED has been returned from a call to a COM component. - Not enough storage is available to process this command Before the hotfix there seemed to be a memory leak in the sync engine/FIM MA as the memory consumption constantly climbed. After the hotfix the memory consumption is more stable but I still get errors. My data and configuration of the portal and MA's is fine - I have previously succeded in exporting smaller amounts of the same data (about 500 objects) to the FIM portal. Any advice is greatly appreciated.Thomas Boel Sigurdsson - Omada - http://omada.net
