I looked around quite a bit but couldn't get around to the issue I've at hand.

I've a matrix report with one row group and one column group. I want to apply interactive sort so that when a user clicks on the column header based on the values in the column the report is rearranged.

The report shows:

Name 02/02/2008 01/31/2008

Test1 15 12

Test2 915

Now if the user clicks on 02/02/2008 then it will show

Name 02/02/2008 01/31/2008

Test2 9 15

Test11512

And toggle if clicked again. Hope I'm clear.

Interactive sort in Matrix is not supported in Report Services 2005. Only sort by group or subtotal can be used.

I have a related predicament:

Name 02/02/2008 01/31/2008 Total

Test1 15 1227

Test2 915 24

I don't want an interactive sort, I just want to sort using the Total Column auto-generated by the matrix. any ideas?

Click whichever textbox you want the sorting button to appear on.

Right click >> Properties >> Interactive Sort

Set the Sort Expression to whatever is in the "Total" Field.

Leave "Data region or grouping to sort:" as "Current Scope"

Change "Evaluate sort expression in this scope:"to "Choose data region or grouping" and type in whatever group your "Name" column is under.

This will give you interactive sorting of the "Name" group based off the "total" column.

i face an same problem.when the user click on interactive sorting by a specific column,the interactive is working properly only on the first page.

on the next pages  the interactive sorting is not working. can you please suggest how to resolve this
