Master Page Editing in Sharerpoint 2013

I want to add a Clickable image next to  .

This is what I have tried so far;

1. downloaded seattle.html and seattle.master.

2. Renamed to seattle custom.html and tried to edit it, but the suite bar branding Delegate is not present in the Html file

3. Tried to edit seattle custom.master but got an error, This page cannot be edited, deleted or moved!

Moreover I could not find

-<SharePoint:DelegateControl id=ID_SuiteLinksDelegate ControlId=SuiteLinksDelegate runat=server />
neither in .html nor in .master page file

What could have gone wrong?

I am using enterprise ed

That almost sounds like it's been declared a record.  Have you tried checking it ouy first.  Items within the masterpage generally need to be checked out.

Yes its checked out but the same error is displayed, leave this apart my concern is that this master/html files does not have SuiteLinksDelegate but instead has

<div id="ms-designer-ribbon">
            <PublishingRibbon:PublishingRibbon runat="server" />

Hi Rana,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to customize the Suite Bar in SharePoint 2013.

Since the suite bar is designed as an out-of-the-box delegate control, you can create your own inheriting from it with Visual Studio, then deploy it to your SharePoint 2013.

There are some similar posts , they provide some examples for customizing the Suite Bar in SharePoint 2013, please take a look at:

I hope this helps.

Thanks Wendy!

Using Visual Studio is not possible!

Isn't there any way by which I could manipulate html/master page files to get this job done.

Edit Master Page <- this links shows how to hide SuiteLinksDelegate, but the problem is, the html/master page files that I have does not contain any of the Delegate Controls that are newly added to SharePoint 2013 viz. PromotedActions, SuiteLinks, Branding etc!
