Map a sharepoint public site with 2 public urls
Hi all, I have created a sharepoint publishing site and extended it to a internet zone with annonymous access. Now I am able to see my site as http://www.mysite.com. Now I have 2 problems. 1. Client also want to see site even if anyone types http://mysite.com . 2. Also there is a requirement to run site with url http://www.mysite.org. I have tried to do it with Alternet Access mapping but this is not working. Thanks in advance, Gaurav Dixit

If you only add an alternate acess mapping it will not add a host header in IIS. "It is recommanded to extend the web application to a new IIS web site for each zone you want to use. Microsoft does not recommend reusing the same IIS Web site for multiple zones, unless you are specifically told to do so by Microsoft." Hi Serge, I can extens a web application for a zone only once. But I need that my site be accessible by two public URLs. Thanks, Gaurav Dixit

You can use up to 5 zones for a web application. In your scenario you could use Default, Internet and Custom. "There are a maximum of 5 zones available in each web application. All of the zones provide the same functionality, although the Default zone will always be used for certain features such as sending administrative e-mail messages to site collection owners."
