Manual uninstall of SSRS2000?
I'm trying to install SQL2005 Express Edition, the adv. version that includes SSRS. The installation fails because it cannot upgrade the existing SSRS2000. I tried to uninstall the latter from the Add/Rem. Programs, and I get "Fatal Error during installation". IIS was stopped prior to the uninstall attempt.SSRS2000 will thus not uninstall. How can I do a manual uninstall of it? I need to retain my SQL2000 instance, so the manual uninstall of SSRS must not injure it.

Can you not start IIS before attempting the uninstall? That may be the only issue.

I tried it both ways, with IIS running and not. Both resulted in the error during uninstall.

I found a solution. I dug around and found the original CD for SSRS2000. While the entry in Add/remove Programs failed to uninstall SSRS, the full setup package on the CD was able to do so. It reported an 'Error 1603' during the "Adjusting Namespaces" phase of uninstall, but offered an "Ignore" option. Uninstall apparently completed successfully, as the entry in Add/Remove is gone. More to the point, SQL2005 Setup was able to install all components.
