Managing incremental updates in SCCM Standalone media

Hi,

We are in the process of deploying machines which are not in network. For the deployment of these machines we have to create standalone media. These media gets updated on weekly basis when we make changes to our TS & then they are uploaded to one drive for our technicians to download. Our, problem is that every time we make a change in the TS our technicians have to download entire media which is around 7.x gigs in size is there a process or a standard tool which will help the technicians to download only the incremental updates & not the complete media every time.

Thanks,

Pranay.

There is no way for you to update incrementally all the standalone media in the field. SCCM doesnt provide this option.

The issue here is that even if you make a standalone media incrementally when you upload it to ONE Drive they will require to re download it completely.

The only thing i could see here is that if you where to deploy the media to your own network location you could use device that cache the bits and byte and only copy the difference (like riverbed for example) If you upload it to one drive than nothing you can do about this it will download the entire media.

My question would be why do you change the Task sequence so often ?

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

The thing is we are working with other companies LOB apps & when a newer version of app comes we have to update the TS with the new version of app package.

We only wanted to upload the incremental updates to one drive so the technician can download only the updates & then merge them with the previous build.

Is there a way of doing this ?

Thanks,

Pranay.
