Manager Field (Not Mapped) In User Profiles Always Takes Value From AD

Situation:

  1. Removed the default mapping of the Manager field in User Profile.
  2. Set a mapping for a field from BCS connection
  3. Changed the value manually for one User Profile
  4. Started Full Sync.
  5. In Miisclient all agents pass with "success" status
  6. Checking the value of the Manager field in the manually changed User Profile the value is again taken from the AD

Any ideas why this is happening.

And what should be the format of the value which the BCS should return (currently I am trying with "username" (without the domain, because this works with the PowerShell?

Hi,

I suggest you create a new user property and set a mapping for this filed from BCS connection, Full Sync, then check if it works.

Or try to restart the User Profile Service and User Profile Synchronization Service.
