I was building out a managed nav, and in SP 2013, when you update one it automatically goes through the others and makes sure there aren't any duplicate number. For example I have home, departments, document center, and support, if I change home to be 2, it doesn't change departments from 2 to 3, it has duplicates now in SP2016. Anyone else seeing this? Not a real issue, as I can change it, but wanted to point it out.
Thanks for the feedback. I just tried this on a test machine in my office but I don't repro the issue with custom sort. Perhaps I didn't understand the issue correctly?
Here's what I did:
1. Create a term set and create 3 terms: T1, T2, T3
2. Select the term set and, in the custom sort tab, select "Use custom sort order"
3. Change the order for T2 from 2 to 1. Hit Save.
4. Verify that the terms now show up in the order T2, T1, T3.
5. Change the order of T1 from 2 to 3. Hit save.
6. Verify that the terms now show up in the order T2, T3, T1.
Are you doing something different? Perhaps a screenshot might be helpful?
Edit: Ah, you're editing managed nav. I eagerly skipped over the first sentence :-) If you can describe which technique you are using to build out Managed Nav, I can try to verify and then see what can be done?- Edited by Rahul Mittal [MSFT]Microsoft employee 5 hours 19 minutes ago
