Manage SharePoint 2010 server logs (Web Server Extentions 14 Logs)
On SharePoint 2010 Server, under the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS" there are more than 600 Though it is safe to remove those file (refer to this post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservermanager/thread/167db395-3713-4037-93d2-42190c1bfbfd), what is the best practice to manage those files? such as 1. Is there a way to prevent those files from endless growing? 2. Is there a setting to clean/remove logs? Thank you.

You can set the level of detail to log along with the number of logs to keep: Configure diagnostic logging (SharePoint Server 2010) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee748656.aspx Mike Smith TechTrainingNotes.blogspot.com
