Making a new object type available in the FIM MA
A fresh install of update 3, a new object type in the FIM schema, can't get it to appear in the FIMMA.I created an MPR giving the Sync account rights to read and modify the new object type. Then I went looking for the Synchronization Filter, but there doesn't seem to be a list of object types on it any more, or any way I can add one to it. I've tried looking at it in advanced view, and giving the Administrator rights to All Attributes. So is there some new way to get a new object type out to the FIM MA?http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

Carol,Did you refresh the schema on the FIM MA? (you probably did, but since you didn't list it in your steps, I thought I would ask and this is really all that should be needed to allow the MA to see the new object type, the other)Have you been able to successfully import and export to the FIM MA, prior to this?Since making the schema change in FIM Service and refreshing the FIM MA schema, have you run a full import on the FIM MA?David Lundell www.ilmBestPractices.com

Hi David, yes I refreshed, iisreset's, all multiple times. I added a few new attributes to the user object and they came through fine. And I've done numerous full imports and exports.Have you looked at the Synchronization Filter in update 3? It doesn't seem to do anything now - you can't use it to list object types anyway.Carolhttp://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

Hi Carol, have you added the new type in the list of object types managed by the FIM agent (MA properties dialog -> Select Object Types, maybe also checking the "Show All" box)? PaoloPaolo Tedesco - http://cern.ch/idm

Paolo - yes I've checked show all - my new object type is definitely not there.Eric - I don't understand your comment... Care to elaborate?Previously, when I've created a new object in the schema, I've also had to add it to the Syncronization Filter before I could access it from the FIMMA. I am unable to add anything to the Filter object now. Can someone confirm or deny if this is expected behaviour?? And is there now some other step to getting the new object type in the FIMMA?Carolhttp://www.wapshere.com/missmiis

I see the Synchronization Object attribute on the Synchronization Filter object in the UI on my fresh Update 3 install... Not sure why you don't.Eric

I must be going mad - it was right there on the Extended Attributes tab. I don't know what I was looking at before!http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis
