we have 2 DPM servers, DPM2 (primary), DPM3 (secondary)

some of cluster protected machines show protection-switched on DPM2 and cannot be protected with DPM3 (indirectly)

this is due to o previous server DPM1 being a primary and pulled out of the environment (over a year ago)

how can we make DPM2 the primary server for those few Clustor machines?

Hi,

We don't actually support changing roles of DPM servers.  Once a secondary DPM server always a secondary DPM server.   However, with that said we do have internal sql scripts that can clean up DPMDB on the secondary so it can act as the primary for those data sources.  You need to open a support case because of the complexity of the script.

In the Quick product finder, enter:

System Center Data Protection Manager [2007 or 2010]
System Center 2012 then select System Center 2012 Data Protection Manager
System Center 2012 R2 then select System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager

In the next screen, chose the option that applies.
