Make row header span all columns with grouping
I have the following requirements:
1) A report with multiple datasets and thus multiple tables
2) Report header and column headers that need to show up on every page
3) Grouped data
Because of my first requirement, I cannot put the report header stuff inside the page header. Each dataset may have a different title, and I haven't found a way to change the page header content depending on which page I am on. Therefore, I put the report
header inside a static row above the detail row with all columns merged into one. Then I set the static row to repeat on each new page, and it works perfectly.
Problem: I now need to group my data. The moment I do that, I cannot span my static header row across all columns. The group column is out by itself on the left side, pushing my header row to the right. Based on my reading so far, I cannot merge across data
areas.
I read a suggestion about putting the whole tablix inside another table with two static rows and putting the table header into the first static row. That breaks my second requirement. Meaning, I cannot get the header to show up on each new page even though
I put RepeatOnNewPage = true on the external table static row.
So, I'm stuck! Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi henry tasao,
Have you tried this out:-

Please let us know your feedback.

I used that technique to make my column headers show on every page. However, this trick does not seem to work for the outer table, so the outer table static row is not being repeated on every page.

Hi henry,
In your case, the group column is generated automatically by the gourping, i would suggest you delete the column and add the group header row above the grouped data detail row to display the group names.
thanks,
Jerry

Thanks Jerry, but I can't do that either. My grouped data has to display inline, just like the HTML rowspanning.
