In my testing of this patch (have installed on two seperate test farms) I have noticed that KB2596663, KB2596942, and KB2596911 all run PSCONFIG during the install. Is this suppose to happen, or is there a way to prevent PSCONFIG from running automatically? Will this cause any issues in a multi-server farm if psconfig run and completed on a server before the binaries are installed on other servers in the farm? In all the updates I have applied previously this has never happened, and I have always run PSCONFIG on the servers in the farm after the binary update.

Hi, As far as I know, if the command run PSCONFIG is embedded in the patches, there is no way to stop them. I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. Hi, These are security updates. We are currently investigating this issue regarding psconfig and mismatch in documentation. As for issues on a multi-server farm, you can deploy the binaries and have psconfig run. Then do the same for the rest of the other servers. The psconfig step will be much quicker on the next set of servers in the farm.
