MP on secondary site issue
Hi, I have 2 secondary sites and the MP at both of them can't talk to the SQL server (access denied) on the primary. This should be a simple question, but what rights does the MP need on the primarys' SQL server? Thanks

Hi Kim Cross 1.Check security event log in Primary site for Secondary machines. 2.In Seconday site ,primaryt server has to member of SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_XXX and check system logs. 3.IF you does not have errors in security log and system log,Please check IIS.Possible reinstall IIS in secondary site. Hi, If you specified the using the computeraccount please check if the computeraccount has a login in the SQL Server Management Studio. The same account must have the associated SMSdbrole_MP on the ConfigMgr database. Follow me through my blog and Twitter!

Hi Karthick - Ive checked the primary sites security logs and the secondary sites are logging on fine with their machine accounts. The error (from the mpcontrol log) seems to be a SQL issue rather than site to site comms. Ive given the secondar site servers machine accounts db_owner rights in SQL and STILL Im getting this access denied error. Hair pulling out time. :-) Keep the ideas coming!!

It could also be a SPN error. Have you set the SPN, if yes make sure you didn't make any typos. Follow me through my blog and Twitter!

HI You can check IIS and WMI also..Because error (Call to HttpSendRequestSync failed for port 80 with an error code) started from IIS. 1.Restart IIS or Reinstall 2.Check the port Config. in IIS 3.WMI issue in event log Regards Karthick V

Yep - SPN set correctly. Could this be a policy at all? and Im also having issues with WDS on these two servers - it just will not start.
