I have the same problem currently on our site server. SCCM 2007 on Windows Server 2008 SP1. Error message is "MP Control Manager detected management point is not responding to HTTP requests. What do mplist / mpcert say (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb932118.aspx)? Download ConfigMgr Toolkit V2 and use the MP Troubleshooter.

i have run mplist / mpcert, both from our localhost and from a client end device. the returned values are valid. i downloaded ConfigMgr Toolkit V2 and ran the MP Troubleshooter. all items Pass.
