MOSS alerts not working for all sites in a particular database
HiInitial alert notification is sent but all subsequent alert notifications are not sent.I have just about limited this to the database where the sites reside. The sites are spread across a few databases, but alerts are not working for sites in a particular database.Troubleshooting thus far:Ensured alerts are set for sites in Central Admin. Also used stsadm to ensure alerts are enabled and that job-immediate-alerts are set.Ensured the db tables are populated with the alert information, ie immedsubsciptions, eventcache, etc.Removed and re-attached the db in Central Admin (note this worked for other db's for which I had the same problem).I've also reset IIS admin as well as SharePoint Timer Service.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Maclons,Have you tried running the databaserepair command? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263282.aspxAnd you say that alerts-enabled shows as value yes when running the getproperty on that specific url?George Lazo

Hi George,Yes, alerts-enabled is set for the specific url.Are there any repercussions on running the database command just to detect if there are any orphans? Is this something I will need to perform after user operational hours? Thanks

Try re-registering the alert templates as described here: http://sharepointalert.info/2009/11/troubleshooting-sharepoint-alerts-timer-jobs/ Regards John Timney

As the article explains, it will only handle corruption to a certain point. Withouth knowing in forehand what problems lies within the database, it's impossible to state the outcome. The repair function will ofcourse handle the issues it finds so if for instance there's a hardcoded link to a list or a document somewhere, that someone i using, that item could defenetly be affected.Since I dont know the size of your farm and the ammount of users I can only recommend that you do it after op. hours.George Lazo
