MOSS 2007 sp2, psconfig fails registering services - spdiagnosticservice
FE & BE servers are Server 2008, sp2, x64, Standard Ed. Backend is running SQL 2008sp1 Std Ed. MOSS 2007 sp2 Standard Ed is installed. We have a domain account controlling all the services and it is local admins on both boxes. The FE server has been running fine and is hosting sites ok. However, when we went to run the psconfigui utility it fails. We crawled all over the web looking for answers but just haven't got anywhere yet. Hi Michael, The exception was threw when install the server to the configuration database, I do not know exactly the reason. I suppose the installation source in your local may be corrupted. Could you please try to repair your SharePoint product on the server and see if it is helpful for your issue?
