MOSS 2007 sites are not running.
Hi All,I am getting some strange behaviour of MOSS sites since last two days. Previously(3 weeks prior) these sites were working perfectly alright. All these sites work with Administrator login, but strangely behaves for other logins. Strangely mean, sometimes it gets successfully login. Sometimes it does not login and gives me the error as "You are not authorized to view this page." In event viewer, i frequently get this application error for LoadBalancer.RegisterLauncher failed: Unable to connect to the remote server. Also there is this error as The Office HTML Load Balancing Service did not respond. Can anyone please help me in resolving this issue. Thanks, Nilesh

Is there any load balance. And if it is yes, then can you please checkto open SharePoint sites by using web server's machine IP/Name. In other words, if you have two WFS i.e. MOSS01 and MOSS2, then try to access the SharePoint site by using the url like http://moss01/<SharePointSite> and http://moss02/<SharePointSite>.I sometimes see this sort of issues, this is basically SQL connection type issues between individual WFS. Please check with different SharePoint site urls. Thanks, Himadrish

Before your reply, I just tried repairing Sharepoint through the configuration wizard. And after repairing, now none of the sites are working, not even Central Administration. When I again tried repairing Sharepoint, it gives me this error: "Failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm. Possible reasons for this failure could be that you no longer have the appropriate permissions to the server farm, the database server hosting the server farm is unresponsive, the configuration database is inaccessible or this server has been removed from the server farm. To diagnose this problem further, review the extended error information located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS\PSCDiagnostics_10_28_2009_17_22_12_595_280090511.log. If this problem persists, choose to disconnect from the server farm. After disconnecting, run the wizard again to create or connect to an existing server farm."Can you please let me know, how to resolve this issue? Thanks,Nilesh.

Hi All,There was problem running MOSS sites on my server. These sites were running with Administrator login, but not with other users login. So, I repaired Sharepoint through Configuration wizard. And then all the sites stopped running including CA with any login(not even Administrator login.) I again tried repairing the Sharepoint, but it gave me this error:"Failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm. Possible reasons for this failure could be that you no longer have the appropriate permissions to the server farm, the database server hosting the server farm is unresponsive, the configuration database is inaccessible or this server has been removed from the server farm. If this problem persists, choose to disconnect from the server farm. After disconnecting, run the wizard again to create or connect to an existing server farm."Can anyone please let me know what I should do to fix this issue? Thanks,Nilesh

Hi Nilesh According to the error message, this problem is possibly caused by wrong service account. For the error LoadBalancer.RegisterLauncher failed: Unable to connect to the remote server, it usually happens when Document Conversions Load Balancer Service is using a wring account. The solution is reset the service account in Service Account of Central Administration and restart the services. However you cant enter Central Administration site now, I would suggest you update farm credentials using command line mentioned in the articles below. http://weblogs.asp.net/erobillard/archive/2007/07/06/how-to-change-service-accounts-and-their-passwords-in-moss-and-wss-3-0.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838 If you want to get more valuable information in ULS log, you can turn on Verbose level logging. To do that, please refer to the following blog: http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog/archive/2008/06/11/SharePoint-Debugging-and-Logging-Tips-and-Tricks.aspx For more information, please refer to: Plan for administrative and service accounts (Office SharePoint Server) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263445.aspx http://www.wssdemo.com/Blog/archive/2007/04/29/sharepoint-farm-account.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/jimmiet/pages/uls-log-file-data-mining.aspx Hope this helps.
