No, you can't install 'MOSS 2007 without SP1' on Windows Server 2008. That's probably because you tried to use the web server version for a single server installation.At least in pre-Windows Server 2008 OS's (I have no experience of trying the Web Server version of Windows 2008 because I assumed it would be the same) the Web Server version could only be used for the front-end. Thanks, That makes sense. I was trying to download the Trial of 2008 Standard server and its only an exe. Does this exe contain the ISO as i will be installing in a virtual machine.

I installed Windows Server 2008 Standard. Then downloaded MOSS 2007 with SP1, Same error as in Web Server. I must be doing something wrong.. does Windows Server 2008 need to be at Service Pack 2?
