MOSS 2007 migration problems
We are migrating our Sharepoint 2007 server from one box to another, and in the meantime, migrating our technology as well. Our current box is a Server 2003 32-bit box with MOSS2007 SP1 (supposedly, it upgraded earlier from non-SP1). I'm trying to migrate to a Server 2008 64-bit box with MOSS2007 SP1. I'm currently trying to install MOSS on our 64-bit box so I can begin the migration. When I run the Sharepoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard, I tell it I want to add this server to our farm, I give it the DB name, etc. It begins the config process and ends promptly in step 2 when I get this message: Exception: System.Security.SecurityException: Access denied. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPPersistedObject.Update() at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPServer.Update() at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPFarm.Join() at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.ConfigurationDatabaseTask.CreateOrConnectConfigDb() at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.ConfigurationDatabaseTask.Run() at Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.TaskThread.ExecuteTask() The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer The account I'm using has DB Owner rights to the Sharepoint Config database, but I'm a little curious as to why it's pointing me to "My Computer". Help! Thanks!

I ran the commands listed here (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-ZA/sharepointadmin/thread/5a69c112-95fd-4ec2-91b0-cd9abd0fd46d) and what I got was: This operation can be performed only on a computer that is joined to a server farm by users who have permissions in SQL Server to read from the configuration database. To connect this server to the server farm, use the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard, located on the Start menu in Administrative Tools. The problem is that I can't connect the server to the server farm with the wizard because I keep getting the error I listed above. I have full permissions to the SQL Server to read from the configuration data.
