MOSS 2007 Outgoing email setting
Hi All, I am havingaproblem sendingalerts and notification fromMOSS machine to theusers I add permissions from SharePointsite. I followed the Outgoing Email: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263462.aspx,but still it doesnt work... Please help me resolve this These are the settings I have done on my MOSS server Help appreciated Thanks in advanceJaya

Do your e-mail admins allow mail relays from your SharePoint server? If not, you'll have to ask them to allow it.

Hello,Control panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions > Add Port > In name enter : SMTP ruleIn Port enter: 25Make sure TCP is checked.Click OK.You are all set now.Regards

I had same issue as I had added WFE IP addresses and APP server IP addresses in mail relay it wont work.Last we only added NLB IP address with host name of WFE server in mail relay it is working now.I have sites hosted on front end and Admin,Shared sites hosted on App server.san

Hello, I had a similar issue. Look into the user profile if the email address is valid. It is possible that the profile in the site collection didn't get updated. Delete the user from the site collection and then try adding the user back with the Send Email option selected. Hope that helps!
