MOSS 2007 / IIS WEBSITES
hey guys first of all i am gonna give a description about the implemented MOSS 2007 enviroment The moss 2007 implemented in a domain env and over two servers 1-holds the SP ceternal administration and hosts all ISS web applications(sharepoint websites) 2-sql 2005 which holds all sp dbs there are no backup taken else the sql dbs which are intacts and safe to access the problem : client says by accident all the iis webapplications in \wss folder are deleted and none of the websites are functioning. it seems that sp data's are safe and sound.\ we tried to recover deleted files with some data recovery programs but files recovered with corrupted datas and not usefull and hence none websites are functioning. I wonder is there any way to rebuild iis webapplications using the sql dbs? or is there any way the rebuild the iis websites? if the answer is no ? how can we rebuild the moss farm with the availabe informations in dbs? thank you guys

Hi, I suggest you to follow these steps: 1. First of all take full backup of all your DBs. 2. Run sharepoint configuration wizard. This will create the web app of central administrator. 3. Now create the web application(IIS sites) from Central administrator with same name. 4. Now from central admin UI attach the content databases back to the sever farm. This will recreate the sites of your farm. I hope this will help you out. Thanks, Rahul Rashu

Please provide some more details here 1. Is the CA and SSP site accessible? 2. Do you have SQL backup of content databases before the incident occured? 3. How many servers are there in your farm? 4. Did you have any custom dll's deployed in your bin folder of the web-app? You can first try to run config wizard on all servers in your farm and see if that creates the websites in IIS along with the folder structure for IIS.
