I had this issue with Windows 8 and now appears the same deploying Windows 10 with 2012 R2 SP1 + MDT 2013.1 during the MDT task sequence there are steps to set the background image. During the WinPE phase all is fine but after joining domain it will no longer set background for Windows 8 & 10 (although Windows 7 builds are fine)

The command is ztisetbackground and the log file says this

It appears not to be able to run windowhide.exe

Which means the image stays with the default black background rather than the nice SCCM/MDT backdrop

Did you try to use MDT 2013 Update 1 and if so, what's the result?

If we don't have the join domain steps, does the issue occur?
