MDT Task Sequence in SCCM 2007, general questions
Thanks for the "State Capture" ... for the windows account what I mean was I wasn't able to login to PC. I accepted all the default options in TS and according to that PC is joining WORKGROUP and user name is WINDOWS USER and type in the organization name as Test.... now machine gets OS installed and I cant login ... I have no information to use credentials. Check back the TS and I can see the defaults "Randomly generate local admin password and disable the account" this is all the defaults settings in TS. So question was which user /password I need to login.N.A.Malik

you need to set a password in the step, or add a user to the adminstrators group using Net user and localgroup http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/personal-note-no-6-create-local-user-and-add-to-local-group/ . if you do not set a password the admnistrator account is disabled by default, wether you domain or workgroup joinh..Michael Petersen | My blogs: blog.coretech.dk/mip and SCUG.dk/ | Twitter: @OSDeploy | Linkedin: Michael Petersen

Ok, I will check it out, since it was a Test I used the Install.wim from Windows 7 DVD, but in future I am required to use my own install.wim that is customized and geneeralized using sysprep and unattend file. In this unattend file, End User is required to create a user account and accept EULA at OOBE. How it will work in the SCCM TS? I mean do I need to modify TS?N.A.Malik

Now i modified the TS and join to the domain and provide the user /passwword info in "Apply Windows Settings" (before the Apply Network Settings) but still the machine not accept user /password I provided in the "Apply Windows Settings"N.A.Malik

Hi All what is your opinion about the "State Capture" ,,, can I delete it? Since I am using a bare metal machine and nothing needs to be captured before the OSD starts. Since it was the test TS just to make sure if it works fine, I accepted all Default options in TS ... when OSD finish, I can see client PC asking for user & password ....since I have accepted defaults my user name was "Windows User" and option "Randomly generate local admin password and disable the account" .... in this test TS I was joining to Workgroup as default ... when I modify TS and provided value of user /password it worked, but what happen to login info the other scenario? (I know about the UDI TS wizard that allow you to create the user account during OSD , but is the only way to achine it?)N.A.Malik

you can disable that entire group in the options tab, rather than delete it, you might need it again someday. Not following what you want in relation to windows user, do you want the installed computer to be domain joined or workgroup joined, if you want it domain joined then supply a user with rights to add the computer to the domain in the apply network settings step. cheers niall Step by Step ConfigMgr 2007 Guides Step by Step ConfigMgr 2012 Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
