MDT Deployment Share Path location?
Does it matter where I create this? Does it need to be created on one of the drives on the sccm server or can it be any network location I choose?

Is this related to the other discussion we were having about your ConfigMgr task sequence? If so, you don't need an MDT deployment share. MDT deployment shares relate to MDT lite touch deployment using the MDT workbench and are not needed for using MDT with ConfigMgr. MDT provides it's own deployment solution for customers who do not have ConfigMgr. This is where you can run deployments from standard windows file shares (MDT Deployment Share). This is known as MDT lite touch deployment and is discussed in the MDT forum. You can use MDT lite touch for creating OS images which you then deploy with ConfigMgr (this is what I do) but if you are just looking to deploy an existing ConfigMgr OS image with a ConfigMgr/MDT task sequence then you don't need a deployment share. In fact you don't need to go into the MDT Workbench at all... If you are looking to use MDT lite touch to start creating your OS image then take a look through the MDT forum. Mark.

Yes it is. I thought since it was getting a little of the main topic they would move it anyway so I just started a new thread. The reason I posed that question is that I started the "Create Microsoft Deployment Task Sequence" to create a client task sequence. I got to the MDT Files package to use section and I was prompted with an option to "Specify" or "Create" new MDT Files package. I don't see an existing one unless I'm looking in wrong place, or fro wrong name. So I thought I had to create one and that led to the whole "Deployment Workbench" and Deployment share option etc.. But from you are saying I don't need to use the MDT workbench option. So with that i still have to create an mdt or use existing correct?

Don't confuse the MDT package with the deployment share. Mark is correct that "ZeroTouch" does not need the deployment share. The MDT package is just a package containing the MDT directory.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys

MDT Deployment Share is used in case of Lite Touch Deployments, where you don't have SCCM Whereas MDT Toolkit Package is required for the task "Use Toolkit Package" in SCCM OSD task Sequence, where MDT and SCCM integrated together. So in the wizard, select the radio button "Create" and just give any UNC path , The files required for toolkit package will be copied from MDT & WAIK installation folders to the UNC path you have just specified. Note: This package needs to be distributed to site servers and DPs to use MDT toolkit package in SCCM OSD task Sequence. Hope this clarified your question.
