I have added a driver to MDT/SCCM for my sound card because the one that comes with Windows 7 doesn't work. My problem is, when I deploy Windows 7 via SCCM/MDT, the Windows 7 driver gets installed. I think this is because, even though the driver VERSION of the driver I want to install is higher, the driver DATE indicates the driver is older. Who is selecting the driver, Windows 7 or MDT? And is this select based solely on date? If so, is there anything I can do about it? BTW - The driver that does work, will install IF I run the setup.exe that is included with the drivers. This bothers me because, A) I want to incorporate the drivers into MDT, and B) I don't beleive that you should ever be required to run a setup executable to install device drivers.

I think somone at Dell took pity on me. Dell released a newer driver with a newer date.
