Got mine booked for Monday. Anyone else in Australia doing theirs before that? :) Looking at the Microsoft Learning article (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-158&locale=en-us#tab2), I have a few things to bone up on this weekend. Not my idea of a fun weekend, but probably more productive than the drinking-to-forget I had planned. - Ross Currie

Thumbs up to everyone involved in putting together the exam, and establishing the certification ... I know this has been a long time coming, and hit a few pot-holes along the way before it got to beta stage, but it is worth the wait! The feedback process should quickly iron out the small number of anomolies that might have been lurking in there ... Sure there is going to be a mixed reaction to the questions, as those of us drawn to this technology platform invariably come from vastly varied backgrounds, and with so many features in one product it's possible that you could work for years with it and never touch some of the features outside of a lab. The very existence of this certification is going to raise not only the profile of FIM but that of the global community that has evolved with it. Well done to all concerned! Oh - and for those yet to take it, use this link to get to the official preparation guide. Here are a couple of tips from one who's just sat it: You may find the Prometric exam UI navigation takes a bit to get used to, so read the tutorial carefully when you get there so you don't waste time fighting with it when the time pressure starts to mount. There are lots of buttons to press, so try them all! Give yourself plenty of time to leverage the Mark for Review feature so that you don’t spin your wheels for too long on the one question, and you can come back once you get to the end. Often you will find that a later question triggers a recall for you of the answer to an earlier question :) Set yourself a limit for each question. Then, if you find yourself reading the same question over and over, and nothing's coming to you within your limit, mark it for review and move on. Give your subconscious brain a chance to do some work while you're answering the next question!
