Lync 2013 - some users have multiple email addresses and red meeting icon doesn't show
Our email accounts for most users is first.last@company.com. But we have a few branches that users have a primary address which may be different; like first.last@branch.com. These users still have the first.last@company.com but it is not the default/primary. The calendar/presence does NOT work for these users when they are in an Outlook meeting. We get the away and the available icons but not the red in meeting icon.

EWS should work... if you Ctrl-Right click the icon in the system tray and choose Configuration Information.  Is EWS working?  Do you have autodiscover.branch.com A records set up to go to your Exchange CAS servers?  Is autodiscover.branch.com a SAN in the certificate?  In a web browser, what do you get if you navigate to https://autodiscover.branch.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc?

Also, as long as you're doing that, you'll also probably want to make sure this command is run in the Lync PowerShell to help the meeting schedules if the SIP address does not match the Email address.  If SIP does match the email address, ignore this command:

Set-CsClientPolicy -DisableEmailComparisonCheck $true

Hi alnims,

You should have one of the following DNS records in branch.com zone.

A record :   autodiscover.branch.com    10.10.10.10

SRV record :  _autodiscover._tcp.branch.com    mail.company.com  443

When Lync attempts to connect to Autodiscover, Lync will try to find an A record autodiscover.branch.com each time it connects, but when that fails, it will automatically attempt to find an SRV record for _autodiscover._tcp.branch.com.

Best regards,

Eric
