Looking to make a column display sub-choices based on initial choices in a List
Hello All, Apologies in advance for my elementary post. Say I have created Column 1 entitled 'Teams' with the following options: Team A Team B Team C Now depending on which team is selected, a different set of of sub-choices should appear in Column 2, for instance Team A - apples, oranges Team B - bananas, grapes Team C - watermelon, blueberries How do I relate these columns, using Lookup or Bamboo Lookup Selector? Thanks, JMSteiner

you cannot do that with out of the box lookup column. have a look at these two third party offers: http://kwizcom.com/ProductPage.asp?ProductID=709&ProductSubNodeID=710 http://infowise.co.il/product.aspx?id=ConnectedFields2007Ishai Sagi, SharePoint MVP MCTS in SharePoint Development (WSS & MOSS) Author: www.tinyurl.com/sharepointbook Blog: http://www.sharepoint-tips.com

That's what I was afraid of. Currently, I'm using the Bamboo Lookup Selector, which requires a list to be created for each column that I want to behave like this. Do you know of a way to do this with calculated columns? -JMS

Hi, JMSteiner This seems to be a cascading dropdown requirement. In my mind, using calculated field is not a easy way, so would you please also look at the following solution: Cascading dropdown field: http://datacogs.com/datablogs/archive/2007/08/26/641.aspx There are also some solutions with customization, please let us know if this would help first.
