Login Pop-Up for anyone other than Admins
Hi, I have an issue that I feel must be something really dumb on my part but this is my first time working w/ SQL Server so I'm a newb. My issue is that anyone other than an admin on the box SSRS is running on recieves an authentication popup when trying to access the reports server. If you type in the username/pass it'll just ask for it 3 times and then go to a blank white page. If add that user as an admin to the box the issue goes away. I'm using SQL Server 2008 SP2 Developer running on Windows XP SP3. Trying to access SSRS through IE8. Service Account is "Local System". I've tried the following to no avail: changing the service account to Network, removing RSWindowsNegotiate from the reportserver.config file. I don't believe the link here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lukaszp/archive/2008/03/26/solving-the-reporting-services-login-issue-in-the-february-ctp-of-sql-server-2008.aspx applies because admins get through just fine, it's anyone who isn't an admin who gets the authentication popup. Adding the user specifically in the Home->Properties->Security section of the server doesn't work either. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try this, 1--SSRS Home, Set Site Setting security to the user, user role other than Admin. 2--SSRS Home, Set Folder option to a user and give the roles. 3--Create a folder and see if the folder inherited the security settings. If not Set the folder security for the user. 4--Ensure that IE8, Intranet Setttings allowed , Automatic Logon for Intranet Zone Selected.

That isn't working, I still get the popup for users even when they're given permissions in the site settings and the folders (doesn't matter if it's browse, admin, or content creation either). They only way for me to solve this at this point is to grant everyone admin acces to the box that my SSRS instance is running on.
