LogMeIn Pro2 for servers or System Center Essentials for servers & workstations?
We've been using LogMeIn Pro on a few of our servers for years. Now that I have taken over the IT dept. of my company, I would like to re-evaluate the system. As far as I'm concerned, the main benefit of Pro (that we've utilized) is the alerts feature. I'm interested in Microsoft System Center Essentials (which touts it's current pricing at approx. $2000 for 10 servers and 50 workstations). This will allow full reporting (to the extent that I need, at least) from those 10 servers and inventory from the workstations. My question is this: besides the price difference ($450/yr for LMI vs $2000 once for MS SCE), what are some benefits that LMI Pro has over System Center, and vice versa.Drew Green MCSA, CCENT, Security+, Network+, A+

Hi,I have not been working with LogMeIn Pro2 but I read LogMeIn Pro2 is a unified, cloud-based service delivery console that helps users access, manage and network devices at the edge of the network. With LogMeIn Pro2, you can: monitor large numbers of computers; diagnose potential issues before outages occur; connect to remote, individual computers without the hassle of going onsite; securely create and manage remote networks without additional IT overhead. http://download.cnet.com/LogMeIn-Pro2/3000-2651_4-10368798.htmlSCE also provides inventory, patch management and software management. SCE monitoring is built on management packs and these are free from many vendors. For example the AD MP from Microsoft gives you a very good monitoring of your AD and also reports to review the environment.Anders Bengtsson | Microsoft MVP - Operations Manager | http://www.contoso.se
