List from subsites on Homepage

Hi,

I have a list named stocks in my sub site. I want to display the contents of it in a scrolling manner on the Parent's site Home Page. I am tied off from customization point of view as I am not allowed to use SPD or VS 2010 as its against the policy. I wonder if there is any OOTB solution for this in SharePoint 2010?

Even though if its not scrolling, it should be able to display the list items on the Parent's page

Can be done

but you will need designer. I am not sure how you can do this without the designer.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. As I told, I am not allowed to use SPD. But without using SPD I guess we can go with Something like content roll up web part. In 2007 I remember we have one, not sure how can be done in 2010. But there should be some easier way to do this as its the most common requirement. Can you think of any other built in web part that does the same as getting content from subsites?

Thanks,

Hi,

I would suggest , you can use Jquery scrolling container and get the data from sub-site using Rest/ECMA script and load these scripts in a content editor webpart. This does not require designer or  VS2010. Here's the link for Jquery Scroll :

Let me know if this approach works for you, I could share more details..

But neverthless, I would like to see your solution and check if that works for me. Kindly share the de
