Why do you mean by link? Read the data from EXCEL file? Attach this file?Best Regards,Uri Dimant SQL Server MVP, http://sqlblog.com/blogs/uri_dimant/ MS SQL optimization: MS SQL Development and Optimization MS SQL Blog: Large scale of database and data cleansing Remote DBA Services: Improves MS SQL Database Performance

Hi Deepu, From your description, you want to open the EXCEL file which location on the Window Share Folder using the URL, right? I am afraid this cannot be done. One way to open the EXCEL file using a URL is that deploy the file to a SharePoint site, and then open the file in the site, then you can use this URL in the report, and grant the corresponding permission to your users. In this case, when end-use view the report and click the link, it will open the EXCEL file. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Regards,Charlie Liao TechNet Community Support

I have the similar situation -- specifically, I have a csv file stored on a remote server share that I would like to open in excel from within an SSRS report. The file cannot be exported to SharePoint, as it must be created/populated/maintained at the server. I'm not seeing anything in the SSRS Toolbox that would allow me to create and submit a call to make this happen. Am I missing an option somewhere?
