Linking Documents on a SharePoint page
I have a SharePoint 2007 site with a home page and a sub-site. The home page is going to be visible by hundreds of people, and the sub-site is a team page with permissions given to a select group of people. On the sub-site, I have posted some documents (PDF documents with policies, etc). I want to make that document available on the home page, but I don't want to have to upload it to two separate places each time I make a change. When I tried a simple "link" in the home page, to the document in the sub-site, it did not work because the person accessing the home page does not have permission to the sub-site. Is there a way to link the documents (so I don't have to upload it to two locations) without giving people permission to the sub-site? Thank you.

Since the "home page" has the least permissions, and the document needs to be accessible to all, store the document there. Put a hyperlink on the team page to the document.Steve Clark, MCTS | Twin-Soft.com

Thanks. This was the answer that I was afraid of, simply because the restricted site is where we do most of our work. We work on the sub-site and share information on the unrestricted site so that information is only shared with those privy to the information. So it would be nice if we could post it on the restricted site, but allow people who have permission to the unrestricted page to see it on the unrestricted site. Thank you for your help! Don
