I have multiple documents to upload to our Document Libray that include links to other documents within the Library. Will i be able to include the link?

Hi, You can use "Link to a Document" content type for this purpose. To add content type, 1. On Settings page of document library, select "Advanced settings" link under "General Settings". 2. Select "Yes" for "Allow management of content types?" in "Content Types" section. 3. On Settings page, click on the link "Add from existing site content types" under "Content Types" section. 4. Locate "Link to a Document" content type in available content types and add. Now, you can link the other documents using "Link to a Document" under "New" tab of toolbar. Hope this helps. Regards.

Hi, You can create a link to a document, please refer to: http://www.toddklindt.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=49 Links to a document within another document are handled by the application that created the document so SharePoint doesn't know anything about it. URL links to documents in document libraries are not updated if the document is moved. SharePoint 2007 has a new feature that copies a document to another location using the "Send To" menu item. Using this feature you can tell SharePoint to update the copy if the source is updated but the document is stored in multiple locations. I wish you every success in your important work. Best regards, David HM

What about creating a hyperlink in a document to another document within another site document library? Can this be done? I know it`s not good practice but wondering if this is achievable?
