Linked Server Connection
We have come across a situation where linked server connection cann't be kill except restarting sql server which is too intrusive on production environment.Any suggestion please.we are using sql 2008r2 enterprise edition and linked server is extracting data
from progress using 64 bit odbc driver.

What syntax are you using to end the linked server and what is the error message you get?

we were using Kill command to kill linked server spid.

No wonder you're having problems. That's like using Task Manager to kill tasks!
