Linked Report Subreport- Error: Subreport could not be shown on SSRS 2008r2
I've got 2 folders:
/Finance
/Japan
In the Finance folder I have a Sales report that has 3 subreports, and a salesregion parameter.
I created a linked report in /Japan to /Finance/Sales, hide the salesregion parameter, and set the default to Japan, so they can only see their region's sales data.
But when a Japan user runs the Sales report, they get Error: Subreport could not be shown because they do not have access to the /Finance folder. Any ideas?

Hi,
Based on the error message you post, the issue may be caused because the Japan user has no permission to access the /Fianace folder. So, you need to grant the user proper permissions on the folder. See
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337471.aspx on how to set item-level permissions on a report server.
thanks,

That's the point- the Japan user does NOT have access to the /Finance folder, because they are not allowed to see data from all markets. Creating a linked report in the /Japan folder allows me to set and hide the salesregion parameter so the Japan users
can only see data from their region. This works great for the linked report, however the problem is with subreports.
