Lending Library Permissions
We've installed the Lending Library template to our SharePoint 2007 environment. I've created a lending library without any difficulty. (Yes, some of the data fields aren't needed, but what the heck...) I've added books to the library. I can check out the books, etc. The problem is with the functionality for other users. I've got almost all the permissions of site administrators, so I should be able to do everything. I would like for anyone in the organization to be able to click the Check Out button and fill out the form, changing the status of the book. I do not want them to be able to edit the details on the books. Is this possible with the template? If so, what permissions should the rest of the organization have? If it isn't possible, then all I need to do is add an "instructions" web part explaining to the people in the organization that if they want a book, they have to either email me or call me. Not a major issue, but if the template can handle some small piece of the process, the better it would be. Thanks for your help in advance.Fred

Hi Fredrik, Editing the details of the book and checking out book need the same permission of "edit item". It set the column "Available" to No when user perform a check out. You can see this column in datasheet view. So if user can't edit item, they also can't check out item. Thanks, pengyu Zhao
