Large List's Datasheet View Missing Items Upon Filtering
I have a VERY large list (100,000+ items) that a business user likes to use datasheet view on. She's trying to filter by a certain lookup column, and sees her choice in the list of available options (let's say she's choosing "X"), but upon choosing her value, no results are shown. There's no filter criteria pre-configured on the datasheet view, however, and the items are definitely there; they show up if filtering in a non-datasheet version of the view. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I assume it's a performance problem or limitation or something, but I'm not finding a lot about the problem online.

This is definately happening because of the number of items stored in the List. Best practice is to display only 2000 items per view You can redesign your list using Filter\Group by and display less item per view. Thanks. I assumed and told the users as much, but they insist they need a massive unfiltered view the way the system is currently implemented. Personally, I think the application is in need of a rewrite. PS - In SharePoint 2010, I discovered that datasheet view is actually limited to 50,000 records, so we'll definitely need to rethink the system upon upgrade.
