Large File Count in C:\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Crypt o\RSA\MachineKeys
What would cause 800,000 key files to build up in 'C:\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys'? The cases we've come across appear to be non-OS applications generating files per Process Monitor.

Hi,

The MachineKeys folder stores certificate pair keys for both the computer and users. Whenever a certificate request is generated for the machine, a new file is created in this location.  This is true even if the certificate request fails.

I find a similar thread, it may be helpful,
