Landing Page home.aspx and default.aspx in SharePoint 2013

As per the attachged Image : In Site 1, the
default edit view is a bit strange.  I am expecting it to look like site2.  What I need to be able to do is add apps and insert code.  The site one by default has two web part boxes and
I cant remove either one, nor
can I can insert code to the webpart on site 1.

I just want to how I need to fix site 1 so that it works like site 2.  is it by changing page lay out or any other way please help me with detail steps. thanks in advance.

These are two different page types, which is not quite the same as different page layouts. The first is a web part page, which can have different layouts of where those web parts go (ie the boxes). The second is what used to be known as a wiki page but is a general WYSIWYG editing page into which you can add text and/or web parts.

Thanks.

do you mean to say 2nd site page is wiki page? If so How I can create it and make it as home landing page

all these is irrelevant to the PUBLISHING Feature enable?

Please help.

Yes, the second page is a wiki page. The link I added shows how to add one.

This link describes the options for changing a default home page.

You do not need the publishing feature to use these pages, or to set the home page.
