Lab Simulation
Hi All - During our OSD Task Sequence we have several variables to determine what packages to install and certain configurations to apply based on whether a WQL query determines the chassis is a desktop or a laptop. Rather than using an actual laptop to test this on, in our Hyper-V test lab is there an easy way to edit WMI on a new machine so that when it is polled by the OSD Task sequence it thinks it is a laptop chassis?

not quite as the wmi queries will still only run based on the query you set, so what you need to do is modify the query so that it will run if a Laptop is detected OR if MachineType=Virtual Machine, so modify your current query so that if any as the basis of your options. that way your steps will run on your virtual machines and your laptops, select Model from Win32_ComputerSystem where Model = "Virtual Machine" My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
