KB3049563 for windows 7 x64 affecting Internet Explorer 11.0.19

Hi

After updating a windows 7 laptop with KB3049563, Internet Explorer 11.0.19 no longer has a scroll bar for my SharePoint 2010 pages. I have tried to disable all add-ons and enable compatibility mode for IE but to no avail. Uninstalling the KB restores the scroll bar but need a more realistic approach as it is a critical update. Need assistance as more and more users are installing the update with similar results.

SharePoint Build Version 14.0.6117.5002

Update: Noticed that there is a similar windows security update (KB3049563) for SharePoint Server's, will be installing it in the next 24 hours to see if it will help fix the issue.

thanks

Hi,

Just checking whether your issue is solved.

Try to add the below CSS property and check.

-ms-overflow-style: scrollbar;

Hi

Thanks for the response. I am not sure how to do the CSS Property check especially since sharepoint design belongs to another team. But went through the links you provided none of them seem to work for my scroll bar.

I have been running explorer 11 all along and the scroll bar worked fine until the KB update. Are we sure there are no issues with the KB that might not be common knowledge now. Or a my supposed to advice my users to work with other browsers or uninstall the KB

Hi

For your issue, I'm not sure whether it is a common issue, you can advice your users to work with other browsers or uninstall the KB.

Besides, as the issue is related to Internet Explorer, I suggest you create a new thread on windows forum, more experts will assist you.
