Ok, so I'm new to the whole server world, and especially the sharepoint world....but I have this sharepoint server, that I've been working with.
I just installed Sharepoint 2013 on a virtual server, and it's a test deployment, so it's all on one machine, sql, sharepoint, everything. (even though I'm not entirely sure I know what that means...)
Anyways, about a week ago, it's up and running a team site, but I wasn't sure what it did, so I invited users to the site, and that went well, my co-worker logged in and updated his about me.. profile, which is all we could really do....
So I downloaded a help desk template, and the procedure was to backup the server farm, which I did, then restore the template (it was a backup file to restore) to the site, and that's how you install it. Well, I initially installed a team site, then I installed a help desk site collection, and a second help desk site collection.
I've been reading through material and etc. all night, trying to make ends meet, and it seems there is so much to learn, the main reason that I am posting is my central admin is down. Why would it go down, and be non-accessible.??
Well, here's hoping I learn something new anyways, though this whole process is new (and exciting, except for the server going down...)
Alright, thanks in advance, to whomever will converse with this sharepoint newbie! (and don't worry I'll be reading and learning as much as possible in the meantime, so it's not like I'm just posting this up here, and hoping you'll fix my problem, I sincerely want to understand everything there is to know about this project from installation to troubleshooting).
