Issues with Full Name lookup
We have a Sharepoint application that does the AD account lookup. When searching for the AD account, we can either type in the full name, AD account name or use the Address Book to locate the user. The Sharepoint server is sitting in a separate Windows 2003 domain than the AD domain where the user accounts are located. All works fine until we upgraded AD domain DCs from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2 and full name lookup started to fail. When doing the full name lookup, it will just keep spinning and never return anything. Any idea how full name lookup works in Sharepoint? Do we need to open other ports in addition to ports required by Windows 2008 R2? Thanks in advance!

Hi Vaforone, Have it returned something like “No results were found to match your search item”? Can you find any errors in Event longs and ULS logs? Please do the following steps to import profiles and try again. 1. Please do a full import for user profiles and properties (SSP > User Profiles and Properties). 2. Click view user profiles, select a user > Edit. 3. Check the Name profile if it filled with the right full name. If not, you need to check the import connections and profile property, and make sure it is a good connection and import mapping. 4. Check the Name profile if it filled with the right profile. If not, you need to check the import connection and profile property, and make sure it is a good connection and import mapping. Best regards, Emir
