Issues after restoring database to a different webapplication.
Scenario: We have two farms. On the dev farm, some of the pages like newform.aspx, editform.aspx were customized using sharepoint designer. I took sql backup of the content-db of the web-app from dev farm and then restored on another farm in the the pre-production server I was able to browse the site but there are few hitches/ issues, 1) When I open some of the OOB pages (such as calendar.aspx of a calendar list) I get 'File not found' error. 2) Newform.aspx when opened using SPD throws 'error rendering control' in the design view against each column. However it displays at runtime. Is it do with any ID or GUID? how to get rid of this message? 3) Will the GUIDs of LISTS change in the above scenario? 4) I want to remove the data from the LISTS but at the same have the ID reset. I guess I can delete but can't reset? Is 'saving as template' the only option for this? But if I "save as template" will it cause anything to GUIDs etc? What is the best way to acheive this? 5) Within newform.aspx I have used javascript to trap some of the columns. I have used the long field IDs such as "ctl$023948...". Will these change? Please suggest on the above and also anything else that needs to be taken care when I restore content-db from one server to another server. thanks. EDIT : 6) I saved a list as 'template' and when I clicked to see template gallery, I get Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. The URL it is pointing to is as below (it is OOB url) /_catalogs/lt/Forms/AllItems.aspx
