Issues With Lenovo Machines & SCCM OSD Task Sequences
Good Afternoon Everyone - For the past few weeks, I've been having a really tough time getting OSD TS's to work properly with all of the models of Lenovo Computers we have in stock. My Question: How can I get all of my models (mostly Lenovo) to work with one OSD TS per site with 100% of drivers installed and working? The first issue started a month ago when we got a new model in. When running my standard OSD TS on it, the drivers would install, but I would get an error in Device Manager with the video card saying that not enough resources were free. I finally had to duplicate the standard TS and make one of them only check for specific drivers to get it to work. I did consider using the standard TS, but creating a step at the end to reinstall the video driver, but nothing I did would fix the resources error. Anyways - we have recently gotten in about 4-5 new models - each are having driver issues with the standard TS's. Yes, I could create a seperate TS for each, but I try to make imaging as easy as possible so one master OSD TS per site is what I'm trying to achieve. Here's what I've tried to fix it so far: - Create seperate TS for each model - Used a method I found which uses Lenovo's tools to create a repository with all drivers - then add steps to the standard TS to install any needed drivers from it. This worked for some models, but made some others and all non-Lenovo workstations fail. More info here. - This weekend, I removed / deleted all 2000+ drivers from SCCM, used Lenovo's update Retriever to download the proper ones, then imported them a model at a time - creating a new driver package for each model as well as category. I then used the same standard TS which was set to install all compatible drivers (i think - whatever's default). I went into work this morning after all of this was replicated on DPs and ran a test on 5 models. I stil got the resources message on 2 models, standard VGA adapter on 1, and 2 i didn't let finish before I had to leave. Below are the models we currently use: Workstations: m58e-7269, m70p-0809, m90p-3282 Laptops: T60-2623, T61p-6460, T500-2055, T510-4349, T510-4314, T410-2516, T420-4178 Legacy Computers we still use: HP dc5000, HP dc5700 So... Any suggestions on how I may get all of these to work all with the same TS per site?Ben K.

I would Import the needed NIC and storage drivers into the drivers repository in CM Create driver packages for the specific models (without importing the drivers) Create a condition on each driver package in the TS.
