Issue with calendar list and Current events
Hello, I came up with an issue in MOSS 2007 and calendar list. The steps to reproduce it are: a) Create a calendar and three events: one past date and two forward date. b) create a new view, staring from the existing view <Current events> c) Give a name (e.g.NewCurrentEvents) , make NO changes and press OK d) the NewCurrentEvents is displaying correctly - e.g. the current events. e) Edit the NewCurrentEvents and on item limit, put a different value: e.g. 10 f) The NewCurrentEvents shows ALL events and not the current. The same result would have if at step C, you make the change at the itemlimit and then press OK. YET, If you change the view <Current events> directly, there isn't any problem! My version is 12.0.0.6421 Could anyone verify this issue? Thank youChristos

Hi Christos, I try to verify this issue according to your steps, but I got the different result. I check the steps as following: 1. Create a calendar and three events: one past date and two forward dates. 2. Create a new view, staring from the existing view <Current events>. 3. Give a name (e.g. NewCurrentEvents), make NO changes and press OK. Result: The NewCurrentEvents shows ALL events and not the current, it’s not same with your result. 4. Edit the NewCurrentEvents and on item limit, put a different value: e.g. 10 Result: The NewCurrentEvents shows ALL events and not the current too. 5. create a new view with “Standard View, with Expanded Recurring Events” format 6. Give a name (e.g. StandardCurrentEvents) , make default settings and press OK Result: The StandardCurrentEvents shows same current events with view <Current events> 7. Edit the StandardCurrentEvents and on item limit, put a different value: e.g. 10 Result: The StandardCurrentEvents shows same current events too. Do some researches, I couldn’t find any article which points this. What I suggest you to do as following: 1. Try to create new site and follow above steps to check the effect again 2. If you want to create the view which is the same as the view <Current events>, you can choose “Standard View, with Expanded Recurring Events” format instead. Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford

Stanford, thank you and sorry for the late answer. First, let me say that I've chosen <All Day event> at inserting new events (and not Recurrence). I presume that the view <current events> should show the upcoming events and not the passed events. Do we agree on that? The result you came after step 3 is different than mine, BUT it's not the correct one - i.e. it should show only two events . The result after after 4 is the same with mine, which is also wrong. Actually, we are both right !!!! The first site that I tried was a publishing site with version 12.0.0.6421 (Site actions/view all site settings) I tried it at another publishing site with version 12.0.0.6524 and it shows the same results with you. Actually, the solution is to make a new column date1=[starttime] and make a filter where date1>=[today]Christos
