Issue with Subscription
1) I've created a test subscription to send all alerts (new and closed) to me via email. However I'm not receving the email notifications. There are other subscriptions already in place, however they are receiving the email's, however only for new alerts and not the closed ones. Any idea is this an issue with the product ? 2) How can one check through which subscription did this email come from ? There are multiple subscriptions in place having different combinations of severity/priority/resolution state/category. 3) Is there any document to let me know what alerts come under what category? For Example - For server unavailable subscription the category is state collection whereas logical disk low subscription has category as availability health. Thanks, Harry :-)

The tool is exactly what I was looking at, having said that, neither was I able to generate a test email or a test alert in console. I got a notification sent icon, however no email came. I tried two different email ID's still no luck. Similiarly I tried two servers with different severity and priority. Still no alert in console, hence no email notification on matching of the notification subscription. Other Alerts are coming in console and people are getting emails. Thanks, Harry :-)

Are you running SP1 or R2? 1: (Directions are for R2) open the subscription that is not sending closed alerts and verify that closed is selected by clicking criteria, then in the criteria description box, find "With specific resolution state", and click on the word specific, and make sure Closed is selected. Also are there any alerts in the console about subscriptions? Hope this helps.Scott Moss MVP (Operations Manager) | President - System Center Virtual Users Group | Vice President - Atlanta Southeast Management Users Group (ATL SMUG) Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
